On 15 December 1997, at the close of the conference on R & D of New Technology in the Asia Pacific Rim held in Sydney, Australia, the Pacific Academy of Technology was established.

 

The name was changed to the current name, Pacific Academy of Sciences (PAS), on an international conference organized by the Pacific Academy of Technology held in New Zealand.
